End of Term

Classes are over! And so is everything else except for an exam on Wednesday, then I'm homeward bound, which is long overdue. Today has been long. I was asked to play piano at a CMC (it's a competition) fundraiser event, which was over at the Alberta College, and then I swung back over to the Fine Arts Building for our dress rehearsal. This last week I've taken to writing and arranging a Christmas medley for orchestra. Back in Banff, when I went with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, a couple friends told me that I should write a Christmas piece for them. I already had one in my head, and wrote it down over the week last to play it at the U of A chamber christmas concert tonight. It was soo much fun! I got to conduct it, and lead rehearsals and stuff. It was a very good experience for me. A silent instrument (the baton) is a very unique one. I was lucky, above all, to have a group of 20 individuals from year one to four in their degree, eager to play for me. Now, I study, and stay away from any instrument silent or loud. How exciting. Merry Christmas!

Is anyone reading this blog really? Let me know. I may write more if I know that someone is reading.

Hello Maria,
I play piano and I want to do a music degree after graduate but I don't know if I will be qualified. Can you answer me a few questions?
What pieces did you choose for your entry audition? Can you have the sheet in front of you while you play? What is like the average level among first year students? I'll be so grateful if you can answer these questions for me in email.
